FOOTBALLER-CRICKETERS
-rjr ERE is a trio of Auckland rep. footballers who , curiously enough, are all wicketkeepers in senior cricket elevens this season. Een Righton is a better bat and fieldsman than a. wicketkeeper, but ever since Vic. Badeley (another rep. footballer, by the way) gave up -the game, Een has had to put on the gloves and pads and keep wickets for Parnell.
All Scott (North Shore) is the best of the trio behind the sticks. lie has represented Auckland at both fo&tball and cricket, and with Rountree out of New Zealand, is probably the best keeper in Auckland at the present time. “Gig” ~Wetherill, idol of the League fans, used to play suburban cricket with United Suburbs, but this season his club came over to the A.C.A., and he makes the third rep. footballer in the senior grade this year.
