EDENDALE CINEMA

“THE AUCTIONEER”

One of the best casts assembled for a motion picture in several seasons appears in “The Auctioneer,” Alfred E. Green’s production for Fox Films, which will be shown at the Edendale Cinema to-night. Marion Nixton plays the leading feminine role, which is bound to gain new admirers for this popular and beautiful young actress. George Sidney, noted stage and screen luminary, gives a sterling performance in the title part. Gareth Hughes, who seems to have the faculty of always retaining his popularity, plays opposite Miss Nixon. Ward Crane, one of the best “heavies” in the films, is the “menace.” Doris Lloyd, English actress, who has triumphed in other Fox films, gives a human portrayal of the auctioneer’s wife. Sammy Cohen, of “What Price Glory” fame, has a great part. “God Gave Me Twenty Cents,” featuring Lois Moran, will also be screened.

Corinne Griffith has signed Louise Dresser, the American character actress, for the role of Rosa de Garcer in “The Garden of Eden,” Miss Griffith’s first United Artists picture which is under the direction of Lewis Milestone, maker of “Two Arabian Knights” for United Artists. Hank Mann has been signed for the part of the con-ductor-inspector, and Maude George for that of Madame Bauer. Lowell Sherman appears as Henri Glessing in “The Garden of Eden,” which is based on a scenario by Hans Karly.
