WAIOURU ROAD METALLING

PROPOSED DEPUTATION Much progress had been made during th© year, stated the report presented at the annual meeting of the Taihape Chamber of Commerce. The balance sheet showed a credit of £l2. Offic€rrs for the ensuing year were elected as follows; President, Mr. E. Loader; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. H. Maclean and M. MacCallum; committee, Messrs. D. Xeagl*» J. Arthur, H. L. Butler. J. Collinson, P. Pedersen, R. A. Davies, A. R. Fannin, F. Read; auditor. Mr. A. M. Ryan. The fact that the metalilng of the Waiouru Road had not been completed caused dissatisfaction to be expressed by many members. It was resolved that, failing a satisfactory reply from the Waimarino County Council, which has been asked to contribute £l5O toward the cost of metalling, the Taihape Borough Council and Automobile Association be invited to unite with th© chamber in forming a deputation to wait on the Minister of Public Works in regard to the matter.
