UNEMPLOYED RELIEF

THE £5,000 DRIVE FURTHER ORGANISATION The organisation in connection with the £5,000 drive to provide further funds for the relief of unemployed was advanced at a meeting of the special drive committee yesterday. The committee dealt particularly with the division of the city, and the work to be done in the various blocks by the collectors. On Friday, November 11. members of the Y.VV.C.A. will conduct a sale of flowers on the civic square, where the Municipal Band will render a programme of music between 6.30 and 8.30 p.m. Auckland will be canvassed throughout from 8.30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 12. A further appeal is made for offers from ladies willing to assist on that date, and to motorists prepared to drive them to the blocks allocated.
