STRATFORD THEATRE THIRD Advice has been received in Auckland that the annual competition for the Paramount Shield, conducted between theatres in Australia and New Zealand featuring Paramount pictures, has resulted in the Haymarket Theatre, Sydney, being awarded first place. The Winter Garden Theatre, Brisbane, was second, and Mr. Wilson’s theatre, Stratford, New Zealand, was third. The whole contest was very close particularly between the three placed theatres. Mr. Andrews, of the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket, was the winner last year.
