Captain Alec Cunningham Reid, M.P., and Mrs. Cunningham Reid arrived from the Islands last evening: by the Tofua and arc staying at Hotel Car- * * * Miss Margery Vaile left town last evening for Masterton, where she will be the guest of Mrs. Guy Williams. Mrs. F. G. Evans has returned to New Plymouth from Auckland. Mrs. M. Sanford returned by the Ulimaroa from a visit to Australia. Mrs. P. Kritsch, of Grafton, New South Wales, and Mrs. Garnet Saunders have returned to New Plymouth after a holiday visit to Rotorua, Auckland and Waitomo. Miss Jean Lawford and Mr. Dennis Lawford are leaving for Wellington on Sunday and will sail by the Taihiti on a visit to San Francisco. * * * Mr. and Mrs. W. Carlson, of Stockholm, are staying at the Central Hotel. * * * Colonel and Mrs. Coyne, of Honolulu, and Mrs. A. W. Dow, of San Francisco, are among the guests at the Hotel Cargen. * • * Miss A. Harrison, of Takapuna, is on a holiday visit to Whitford, where she is the guest of Miss M. Ward. Miss H. Hudson, of Sussex, and Mrs. M. Steevens and Miss Power, of Rotorua, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. E. Allen, of Pokeno, are staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. G. Bond, of Sydney, are among those staying at the Albert Hotel. Miss M. Skerrett, sister of the Chief Justice, returned last evening by the Tofua from a trip to the Islands. She will return to Wellington this evening.
