Prosecution Fails. —“ This court cannot act on surmise. There is no evidence before the court to justify conviction. The case will be dismissed,” said Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., at Christchurch referring to the charge against the publisher of the “Weekly Press” concerning a scheme whereby prizes were disposed by nn d of chance. The evidence showed that the paper published a photo of :i crowd with a ring round one head, and announced that on that person calling at the newspaper's office he would b© entitled to receive a prize o£ £l.
