“SIT DOWN”
ANOTHER ROSKILL BREEZE A PERSISTENT MEMBER A letter from the Auckland Power Board to the Mount Roskill Road Board last evening, stating- that additional lights would be installed in the district, led to a heated argument between the chairman and Mr. J. R. Robertson. Mr. Robertson was urging the necesity for the lighting of Arkell’s Road, when the chairman ruled him ou't Of order, informing him that the question could be brought up at the next meeting. “That’s what you told me last meeting,” retorted Mr. Robertson. Mr. Jones: It is? not on the order paper. You are ruled out of order. I must ask you to sit down. Next business! Mr. Robertson: I am not going to sit down. I intend to have my say. Mr. Jones: I repeat it is not on the order paper. You must either resume your seat, or retire. Mr. Robertson: You can ask me to retire if you like. He then referred to a recent contract for horse, feed. Mr. Jones: I order you to sit down or retire. Mr. Robertson: I will sit down now, but will refer to it later. I’m being treated most unfairly. The next business was then taken.
