GOLDEN AGE.—The mine manager ports under date October 27:—"The drt on main reef toward Lucky Shot tw* dary has been advanced a distance 4ft for the week. The reef is now vie than the drive. We intend cross-CBtl through the reef in both walls to aw tain their full width and value.’’ MAORI LAND.—The manager report* "During the week ending October the crosscut at No. 4 level has been* vaneed Bft.. making the total to 4 127 ft. The country is still very difle to shoot. It is of a blocky nature, i the heads are of quartz casing, carry p. considerable amount of the right d of mineral. During the week sleep have also been cut and carried in f’ the bush, and the line repaired."
