AMATEURS AND PAY

OLYMPIC GAMES DISPUTE By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LAUSANNE, Tuesday. The executive of the International Olympic Commission unanimously passed a resolution protesting against the charge that it went beyond its authority in deciding in favour of the payment of a limited indemnity to Olympiad competitors for broken time, and had over-ruled the decision of the Olympic Congress at Prague. The executive claims that it has the right to make emergency decisions between meetings of the Congress. It therefore maintains its decision to allow members of the International Football Federation to participate in th© Olympic Games, in spite of the British and French protests against payments for broken time to amateurs. Further developments will be awaited with interest.—A. and N.Z.
