Clendon left town to-day by car for Thames after spending a few days here, as the guest of Mrs. H. Joyce, Victoria Avenue. Mrs. Mervyn Wells left to-day for Cambridge, after attending the Thames race meeting. _ • • • Mrs. R. Hannon has returned to Cambridge after spending a few days in Auckland. * * * Miss Merle Buxton, of Hamilton, is at present spending a few days in Auckland. Miss Q. Strachan was a Hawke’s Bay visitor to Auckland this week. * * * Mrs. Mcßae Peacock, is an Auckland visitor to Christchurch and is staying with her sister, Mrs. J. Green. ... Mrs. W. Morton and Mrs. L. Foster are Wellington visitors this week to Auckland. ... Mrs. J. Carter, of Palmerston North, who has been staying in Auckland, has returned home. * * . Miss P. Clifford, of Auckland, is the guest of Miss Brewis in Hamilton. Mrs. T. Duncan has returned to town from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. M. Ingram, of Wanganui, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Mina Scott has returned to Auckland after a visit to Hamilton. * * * Miss Jessie McLeod was the recipient of the good wishes and a gift to wish her bon voyage from the Auckland ExService Women’s Association on Saturday afternoon, on the eve of her departure for South Africa. Mrs. R. Browning, Mrs. Campbell Hay and Mrs. W. Watson, who have been staying at the Hotel Cargen, have returned to Wellington. Members of the Auckland Ex-Service Women’s Association gave Miss Margaret Stoddart a linen tea at the Lyceum Club on Saturday afternoon. Miss Sadie Carleton, of Onehunga, and Miss Madge Carleton, of Williamson’s Avenue, Auckland, are leaving on Wednesday evening for a visit to Christchurch, * * * Mr. and Mrs. S. Greenhough returned to Auckland this morning by the Ulimaroa from Sydney'. Mr. and Mrs. J. Inman were among the passengers who arrived from Sydney this morning on the Ulimaroa. * * * Mrs. M. Butler, of Sydney, is at the Central Hotel.
