JOCKEYS WHO DID NOT DR4LE At the Whangarei Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. F. H. Levien. S.M., James Kirby did not appear to answer to a charge of speeding in Cameron Street. The constable estimated the speed at 30 miles an hour. A fine of £3. with 10s costs, was imposed. George Hansard pleaded guilty to speeding in a taxi when trying to eaten a train at Oakleigh, with two travellers who were anxious to get to Auckland, where a relative lay dying in hospitafi The speed when outside the borougn was 30 miles an hour. Defendant was fined 3*>s, with costs 10s. H. Bayliss was charged as a second offender, with having driven an unlicensed vehicle on the county r° a ,* . The evidence showed that defendant was contracting for the county council which bodv owed him money.
