UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS
COMMENCING TO-DAY The usual yearly degree and diploma examinations conducted by the University of New Zealand commenced this morning and will continue for two weeks. The Auckland candidates are sitting at the University College. This year there has been a total of 1,459 entries received for examination at the Auckland centre. A small percentage of this number will not be sitting, having failed to pass the required “terms” examination a week ago. Candidates sitting at Auckland are classified as follow: M.A and honours, 15; M.Sc. and honours, 6; M.Com. and honours, 3; LL.M. and honours, 5; senior scholarship in law, 5; B.A. certificate of -proficiency, 623; iooW B 0; UL.B. and Law Professional, 188; Mus. Bac., 2; Bachelor of Architectural Science, 43; B.Agr., 7; Bachelor of Forestry Science, 9; B.Com. and Accountancy. 5o; Medical Intermediate, 8; Dental Intermediate, 5; Accountancy Professional, 2oo; Engineering Entrance, 30; Diploma in Insurance, 35; Diploma in Journalism, 14; Diploma in Social Science, ?■ Diploma in Education, 10; Certificate in Book-keeping-, 66.
