FIRE AT NORTHCOTE
A fir© broke out in Mr. Sanson’s bakehouse in Onewa Road, Northcote, on Saturday afternoon about 1.30. When Mr. Leahy was going home from work he noticed smoke coming from the bakehouse, and aroused Mr. Sanson, who was in bed at the time in his home adjoining. With help they got the fire under control, and when the Northcote Fire Brigade arrived the flames were practically subdued. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The damage, which is not extensive, was chiefly to one side of the bakehouse and portions of the roof, but the business was carried on as usual this morning.
