FINES IN ENGLAND LEGALITY OF BETTING Sy Cable.—Pres# Association.—Copyright LONDON, Saturday. The Greyhound Racing Association was fined 150 guineas in connection With betting at the races at the White City, Earl's Court, London. A bookmaker was fined 20s. It is pointed out that the legality of (retting on greyhound racing is not affecteji by the decision of the Court in this case. The judgment was solely concerned with a technicality concerning the allocation of regular stands. — A. and N.Z.-Sun.

LEGISLATION AT THE CAPE CAPETOWN, Saturday. The promoters of greyhound racing disturbed by the prospect of special inflation being passed by the Cape provincial authorities to ban this sport on the ground of its effect upon Tv C °* ourec * Population.
