Wash-house on Fire.—A washhouse at 39 King Edward Street, Alt. Eden, was damaged by fire shortly after one o’clock to-day. Mrs. X. Lucas, the occupier, was engaged washing clothes and it is thought ashes from under the copper set fire to the building. The contents, which were not insured, were totally destroyed. The Mt. Eden Brigade prevented the flames from spreading. The house* is owned by Mrs. Thomas - .
