REVOLVER DUEL
TWO CRIMINALS DEAD THIRD MAN WANTED AN ARREST AT ALBURY By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright Rec. 10.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, To-day. r j’’HE police at Albury have arrested a man on a vagrancy charge, in connection with the deaths of “Squizzy” Taylor and John Cutmore. They are now of the opinion that the bullet which killed Cutmore was not fired by Taylor, but by a third man who afterwards disappeared. The theories advanced as to the cause of the fatal duel include jealousy over a woman, and revenge for the murder of Norman Bruhn on June 23 at Darlinghurst, Sydney, as the outcome of a feud between denizens of the slums. The police discount this view, anti are of opinion that it was the result of a long-standing vendetta between members of a Fitzroy gang. John Cutmore, like Leslie Taylor, was a notorious criminal, and had been concerned in a great number of crimes of violence. The detectives say Taylor was the worst type in the criminal annals of Victoria. —A. and N.Z.
