PRINCE EDWARD
“LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN” Admirers of Ernst Lubitsch have now another reason to say there is nothing this master director of the screen cannot do. This is because "Lady Windermere's Fan,” his latest production for Warner Brothers, which opened yesterday at the Prince Edward Theatre. is a perfect photoplay In spin of the sceptics who wagged their mournful heads at the thought of Oscar Wilde's brilliant wit and famous epigrams transferred to the screen. "Lady Windermere’s Fan.” written Sfl years ago, is a thoroughly modem story of a beautiful woman's determined and successful effort to gain an entry into the society that had scorned her. Her charm wins her friends when she forces her way into the birthday party of Lady Windermere, and her sacrifice for her daughter results in ultimate happiness for th* woman who risked everything she desired most, for love of her daughter. A big supporting programme will again be offered at the Prince Edward Theatre to-night.
