FINAL CHECKER SOCIAL CLUB MEETING

A fancy dress ball was held at the Checker Taxicab Company’s head offices last evening as the final meeting of the Checker Social Club for the winter season. Over 130 couples passed an enjoyable evening in dancing. Mrs. Storey, who directed the judging, gave her decision as follows: Most original couple (“Darby and Joan”), Mrs. J. Filmer and Mrs. F. Alison; best dressed couple (harem lady and Russian), Mrs. H. Deverell and Mr. Swann. Mr. Percy Free presented the prizes.
