Gaming House Charge.—Edward William Joseph Frost, a tobacconist, of Hamilton, pleaded guilty yesterday to keeping a common gaming house and was fined £25. Death of Old Colonist. —The death is ■ ported of Airs. Elizabeth McCall, aged \at Papakura. She arrived in New Zetland in 1870 and resided in Ness Valley, Clevedon, for 36 years. Gisborne Burglaries.—Attempts to break into three business premises at Gisborne have been reported to the police. About £l2 worth of tobacco and cigarettes was taken from one shop.—Press Association. Floods Cause Bankruptcy.—J- H. Carter, of Paeroa, was adjudged bankrupt yesterday. His statement showed debts totalling £18,684 and assets -13.459. Bankrupt attributed his failure 10 the constant flooding of his farm. Thieves Unsuccessful.—Thieves attempted to remove a safe from the ! Premises of Messrs.
