POWER BOAT OWNERS
ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL MEETING Permission to hold outboard motorboat races in the boat harbour and speed-boat and cruiser races along the outside wall of the harbour has been obtained from the harbourmaster by the New Zealand Power Boat Association. _ Reporting on this at the annual meeting of the association last evening, Mr. C. J. Collings said that the course was away from the traffic and over smooth water. A place on the Whau River would be a good racing course at full tide for outboards and speed boats. The annual report, which has been published, was adopted, and the wife of the past commodore, Mi s. C. H. T. Palmer, presented trophies won during the season. After some discussion on a proposal that outboard owners should be admitted at reduced rates, it was decided that the subscription should be the same as last year. The officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. IT. R. Mackenzie; vicepatrons, Messrs. G. Baildon, W. B. Leyland, Capt. IT. IT. Sergeant, the Minister of Marine, Messrs. C. IT. Palmer, C. G. Macindoe; commodore, Mr. C. J. Collings; vice-commodore, Mr. H. O. Wiles; rear-commodore, Mr. A. TI. Lees; hon. auditor, Mr. C. R. L’Audney; hon. solicitor, Mr. J. Alexander; hon. secretary, Mr. S. ITanna; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. M. Wilson; club trustees, Messrs. A. G. Lunn, E. Le Roy, A. Burt and M. W. Lane; executive, Messrs. A. R. Brett, R. Mouat, A. Macdonald, A. J. Williams, G. P. Robertson, L. Schischka, S. H. Leyland, F. Cadman, E. L. Buchanan, G. IT. Hodgson and L. Shepherd. A social evening was held after the conclusion of the business.
