MINER KILLED
ACCIDENT AT ROTOWARO An inquiry was held at Huntly on Tuesday by Mr. Wvveni .Wilson, 6.51. into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Alex. M. Henderson, aged 39, who was killed at Rotowaro on Friday evening about seven o’clock. Mr Wm. Barclay, inspector, represented the Mines Department, Mr. J. Watson the Taupiri Coal Company, Mr. K. Caldwell deceased's relatives, Mr. Hugh Gavin the Rotowaro Misers' Union, and Sen: or- Constable Ingram the police. From the evidence it wielicited that the deceased was wortorp with three others, viz., Robert Hogg, Geo. Porteous, and Thos. Robson loading slack with two elevators from a dump alongside the company’s priva: line, and while the party was pushin: a filled truck out of its way, another truck broke away through rot bein? braked, and ran into the one beinc pushed, crushing Henderson, who wm caught between the two buffers. A verdict of accidental death was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
