HEAVIER TAXATION PROPOSED IN FRANCE
ESTIMATES FOR 1928 By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. PARIS, Tuesday. The French Budget Estimates for 1928 contemplate a total taxation of 55,000,000,000 francs. A memorandum says this price must be paid to balance the Budget, which is the first essential reform of the national finances. The realisation of this fact has created an atmosphere of confidence, although there has been some slackening of business which is not likely to become an economic crisis. The balance of trade is favourable and unemployment is declining.—Times.
