world’s record by swimming 300yds in 3m 11 3-ss. Weissmuller holds most of the records for sprint races up to 500 metres. His previous record for 300yds was 3m 16 3-ss, swum, in a bath 75ft long at Philadelphia on March 25, 1922. — A. and N.Z.
