Cricket Scores an Extra Hour
TRIAL OF ONE-DAY MATCHES TEAMS IN COMPETITION With 66 clubs and a large lodge competition on hand, prospects are bright for the Auckland Suburban Cricket Association. Last evening arrangements were made for play for the 1927-28 season, which it is hoped to open on November 12. One-day matches and extended hours under daylight saving are some of the features. Daylight saving rather revolutionised the competition system. It was decided that the senior A grade play one-dav matches for the first round, and thereafter review the position, and that the senior B grade play one-day matches throughout the season.
The time of play is to be extended by one hour added on to the end of the day’s play. On amended follow-on rules a committee was set up to bring down a report on the alterations desirable.
