The Log Book

KAPONGA DOCKS.—The Union Company’s cargo steamer Kaponga was docked this morning for cleaning and painting. She is expected to undock to-morrow and sail later in the day for Greymouth. where she loads for Melbourne and Adelaide.

KAWATIRI REPORTS.—According to a radio message received by the Union Company, the cargo steamer Kawatiri, which left Newcastle last Saturday afternoon for Auckland, is expected to arrive here on Friday evening.

MATAROA FOR HOME.—At present completing her loading at Auckland, the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mataroa is to leave here at daybreak on Saturday for Southampton and London via Panama. A. S. Paterson and Company are the local agents.

TOFUA DUE MONDAY.—Due at Suva this afternoon from Apia, Samoa, the Union Company advises that the Island passenger steamer Tofua will leave the Fijian port to-morrow afternoon for Auckland, and is expected to arrive here next Monday.

NIAGARA FROM VANCOUVER.—The Union Company advises that the R.M.S. Niagara from Vancouver via way ports is due at Auckland on November 7,. and is in the meantime announced to sail from here at noon the following day for Sydney.

SYDNEY STEAMERS. —At 11 a.m. on Friday the Maheno leaves Auckland for Sydney, and at 3 p.m. the same day the Marama leaves Wellington for the same port. The Ulimaroa sails from Sydney at noon on Friday for Auckland. All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning.

MELBOURNE SERVICE.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Manuka was to leave Melbourne at 10 o’clock this morning for Wellington. She is due at Wellington next Monday, and sails the following day for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne.

ROTORUA DUE FRIDAY. Totake in further Homeward cargo the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua is now due at Auckland on Friday from Gisborne. From here the liner returns to Wellington, where she completes loading, and finally departs on November 10 for Southampton and London via Panama.

PAKEHA TO COMPLETE.—To complete her loading for Home, the Sha\sr, Savill and Albion Company advises that the steamer Pakeha leaves Wanganui tonight for Wellington. The vessel is to sail finally from Wellington on October 31 for London via the Cape Horn route.

THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH.—The Canadian Government Line steamer Canadian Scottish, at present in the South dischargng, is expected to leave Dunedin this evening for Bluff. She is due at Wellington on Monday, and should arrive here on November 4 to complete loading before sailing the next day for New York, Boston and Halifax.

AORANGI’S PASSENGERS. The R.M.M.S. PACIFIC COAST SAlLlNGS.—Henderson and Macfarlane, the local agents of the American-Australia-Orient Line, advise the following sailings from tlio Pacific Coast to New Zealand:—

The West Ivan sailed from Los Angeles on October 17 for Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and is due at Auckland on November 11 She returns to the Pacific Coast from Bluff and loads again for New Zealand during February. The West Henshaw sailed from Los Angeles on October 12 for Auckland. After discharge of her cargo here, she. will load for Australia and Hong Kong. The Crosskeys will sail from Los Angeles on November 5 for Auckland. After discharge of the local portion of her cargo she will load at Auckland for Launceston, Melbourne and Hong Kong. The West Calera will sail from Los Angeles on November 5 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth, and is due at Auckland on November 30. From New Plymouth she will return direct to the Pacific Coast and load for New Zealand again during March, 1928.

The West Elcajon is scheduled to sail from Los Angeles on December 30 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington and Lyttelton. She loads again on the Pacific Coast for New Zealand during April, 1928.

The West Sequana is expected to leave Los Angeles on January 3 for Auckland, Wellington, Timaru and Dunedin. She will return to the Pacific Coast and loads again during May, 1928, for New Zealand.

The West Nivaria is to load on the Pacific Coast during January and sail finally from Los Angeles on January 24 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and' one outport to be declared. .

ATHOLL FOR OCEAN ISLAND. —Hen-j derson and Macfarlane advise that the ! tramp steamer Atholl should leave TV a- ' nganui to-day for "Westport for bunkers j before proceeding to Ocean Island, where she will load phosphates for New Zealand.

LAMB STEAMER OMANA.—The Lamb steamer Oniana is due at Gisborne from

Napier to-day to continue unloading coal and poles from Australia. From Gisborne the vessel will come to Auckland about the end of this week to complete discharge. Afterwards she will load timber at Auckland for Australia.

WAIPAHI LEAVES RAROTONGA. — Advice has been received by the Union Company that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi left Rarotonga at noon on Monday for Auckland. She is due here on Saturday next and sails again on Monday for Suva.

KIA ORA'S MOVEMENTS. —L. D. Nathan and Company advises that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Ivia Ora was to leave Bluff early this morning for Nelson, thence New Plymouth, Wellington and Auckland to complete her loading. She is due here on November 3, and is scheduled to sail finally from this port on November S for Halifax, London, and West of England ports via Panama. MESSAGE FROM MIDDLESEX. —The New Zealand Shipping Company has received a wireless message from the Middlesex, timed 9.52 p.m. Sunday, as follows: “Weather conditions favourable since departure from Wellington. All well.” The vessel left Wellington on Thursday evening for Halifax and London.

CORINTHIC FROM HOME. —The White Star liner Corinthic arrived at Wellington last evening from London and Southampton, via Panama., and berthed this morning to land her passengers, mails and general cargo for Wellington. The remainder of the cargo is for Auckland, and she is due at this port on November 2. Passengers for North will leave Wellington by express train at mid-day to-day and reach Auckland to-morrow morning.
