Nemesis of overstrain and fatigue. To know liow. to rest and relax is a great thing. Many women spend hour after hour with nerves and muscles tense, and the strain is bound to tell sooner or later.

The result is perhaps a nervous breakdown, or perhaps nerve exhaustion, neuralgia, or some kindred ailment. To sit down in a comfortable armchair or lie on a couch or bed, to “do nothing” for ten minutes, is most beneficial. All worrying and disturbing thoughts should as far as possible be banished, and the mind left free from any fatiguing thoughts. The eyes should be closed for at any rate part of the time, and the whole body allowed to relax. This period of rest is most beneficial, and after it both mind and body will be more vigorous and alert, and able to take part in the ordinary activities of life with renewed zest.
