ANIMAL WEEK

INTEREST STIMULATED IN MAN’S GREAT FRIENDS

Be kind to animals. This is Animal Welfare Week, the one week set aside each year when j interest in man's greatest friends is stimulated.

The week ends on Sunday, when reference to animals will be made in many of the churches. The Education Board has sent notices to the schools, and addresses are to be delivered to children on this important subject.

Men and women have a du'y to animals, a duty which is so frequently neglected. These dumb treat ures, without which the world would be a sorry place, cannot speak for themselves. They cannot protect themselves from harsh treatment, and man’s humanity is their only reprieve. Cases of disgusting cruelty are often reported to the police, and it is onl> by such action that animals can be really and truly protected.
