WHITE DEER

A book which may prove to be one of the most interesting ever written is now being prepared. It is a history of the Mohawk Indians, written by the last of the tribe, Princess White Deer.

Her father was Chief Running Deer, son of Chief Jim Deer, who did scouting for Kitchener in Egypt. Wjaitc Deer has travelled in Europe, and goes out much in New York society, but she has never lost her reverence for the traditions of her race, or forgotten the stories told by her father. Her book should be full of strange legends and heroic deeds, for the Mohawk Indians were once a grfea.t clan, one of the Six Nations, who were honoured and feared from Canada to Florida.

Life is a thread running interminably through the warp of eternity.
