ST. AIDAN’S CUB NEWS
The keenness of the St. Aidan’s monthly patrol competition shows no sign of abating. The flag for the month was won by the Owls (P.L. Robinson) with 91 points, these being the highest points yet gained. The position of the patrols for the cup stands as follows: First, Kangaroos (P.L. G. Hill), 344 points; second, Beavers (P.L. I. Hill), Kiwis (P.L. Bowkett), 336 points each; third, Panthers (P.L. Nairn), 331 points; fifth. Otters (P.L. Morton), 329 points; sixth, Owls (P.L. Robinson), 324 points; seventh, Wolves (P.L. Gascoigne), 322 points; eighth. Foxes (P.L. Law), 318 points. During Labour Day week-end 10 cubs, two cubmistresses, 11 scouts and scoutmaster camped up in the Waitakeres near Pukematakio and had a very enjoyable time, even though the rain curtailed the programme considerably. The St. Aidan’s Pack is now in a very flourishing condition through the unremitting labours of the Cubmistress, Mrs. Houghton, and the two assistant cubmistresses, Misses Bartrom and Whitelaw. The average attendance of the pack on a parade night is about 50, which shows the keenness of the boys.
