The naughty and impish slave girl, “Topsy,” is played by Rosetta Duncan, who uses more black-face make-up than A 1 Jolson ever will. The sweet orphan child, Eva is portrayed by doll-like Vivian. Simon Legree. the whipcracking moneylender: Uncle Tom; and a host of others immortalised in the classic are there —but how differentlv! Enough of the original story and characters remain to aft'ord recognition, but there is in the film a neverceasing flow of fun caused by the comic antics of the Duncans.
Lew Cody, debonair comedian of the screen, dresses as a fashionable Purisian in’ Metro-Golclwyn-Mayer’s latest comedv-drama, “On Ze Boulevard. Supporting Cody in the principal roles is Miss Renee Adoree, and this French star will give her hosts of admirers a rare treat in this peppy Parisian story. Others of note to have parts in “On.Ze Boulevard” are Roy D’Arcy and Dorothy Sebas.
