CLUB-HOUSE SITE FOR YACHTSMEN

FANSHAWE ST. APPROVED The new location of the headquarters of the Victoria Cruising Club will be at the end of Fanshawe Street. This decision was reached by the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday. The club applied for the site, and the harbourmaster reported favourably. The licence will have a term of 14 years, at a yearly rental of £5. Members will have the right to pull up their boats on the extension of Fanshawe Street. MANUKAU YACHT CLUB DISCUSSION OF JORDAN TROPHY i Discussion of the trophy presented j ; by Mr. AY. J. Jordan. M.P., for competi- j i tion between the two Manukau yachting clubs, took up some time at the j meeting of the Manukau Yacht and \ Motor Boat Club last evening. It was decided to appoint a sub- \ committee of three officers to discuss j the wl question, this Yacht Club ! to meet the other club, with Mr. Jor- ! dan as chairman. It would then be decided as to what purpose the trophy should serve. Owing to the bad weather, several boats are still on the bank and it was thought that it would suit most members better if the first race of the season commenced on November 26. It was decided to take photographs of the officers of the club each year. ; Pleasure was expressed at the action !of the Onehunga Borough Council in ; granting the club a hauling-up site • at the back of the boat sheds on the ; market reserve at a rental of 10s a i year.
