ELDERLY SCOUTMASTER FACES FIVE CHARGES
INDECENCY ALLEGED j Against Thomas John Davies, aged 59 years, a scoutmaster, of Tauranga, five ! charges of indecent assaults upon ! males were preferred at the Supreme ! Court to-day. Mr. Justice Reed prei sided. Mr. V. N. Hubble appeared for the Crown, and Mr. L. Macky for the accused. Outlining the case for the Crown. Mr. Hubble stated that the accused was a scoutmaster at Tauranga, and had arranged for trips with several boys in his troop. It was alleged that the ofJ fences complained of had been commitIted at Paeroa on two such trips, and also at Tauranga between March and July last. (Proceeding.)
