SERVICES AND VISITS

Visits and special services occupied the week-end for the members of the Auckland Diocesan Synod. On Saturday morning a visit was paid to St. John’s College, Tamaki. Old boys’ celebrations and communion were held, and there was an official luncheon. In the afternoon Archbishop Averill and Mrs. Averill entertained the members of the Synod at Bishopscourt. Yesterday was "Synod Sunday.” The Rev. W. C. Wood. of Papakura. preached at St. Mary’s Cathedral in the morning and the Rev. H. T. Steele, of Whangarei, hold the service there in the evening. The orphan home at Otafruhu was yisifed in the afternoon.
