TITIRANGI TOURNAMENT

GEORGE WINS MAIN EVENT At the Titirangi open amateur tournament on Saturday It. M. George won the main event, the Hislop Cup, for the best gross score over 36 holes, with an SO in the morning and an excellent 75 in the afternoon. J. N. Hunter, SO, 80— 160, was next, and T. A. Te Awamutu Ladies (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. The final of the ladies’ championship of the Te Awamutu Golf Club was played between Mrs. R. A. Coyne and Miss Focke, and a keen game resulted in favour of Mrs. Coyne, 5 and 3. At the end of the first nine holes Miss Focke was 1 up, but Mrs. Coyne, playing good golf, won the next six "holes, thus winning the match at the fifteenth.
