CAR FALLS INTO DRAIN

DODGING A WANDERING COW

(From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. A new 7-seater car driven by Mr. A. Winder, and containing six passengers, was returning from the Hamilton races on Saturday evening when within a mile of Thames a cow suddenly jumped up from the side of a road which is narrow and bounded by ditches three feet deep. Mr. Winder swerved/to avoid the animal and ran on to a small bridge at a gateway. The bridge collapsed, and the car fell into the drain. The occupants were not thrown out, and the only ones to suffer injury were Mr. Winder, Mr. G. Reed, Mr. F. Hayward, who sustained cuts and bruises, and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
