ORANGE BLOSSOMS

JOHNSON—JACKSON • A slender little frock of cameo pink georgette was worn by Valerie Enid Jackson, the youngest daughter of Mrs. M. L. Jackson, of Balfour Road, Parnell, for her wedding at St. Mary’s Cathedral this week to William Grainger Johnson, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnson, of Suva. The dainty frock was fashioned in the simplest of ways with a most attractive deep hem of panne velvet strewn with silver and velvet appliqued flowers and a gleaming rose of silver tissue resting lightly on one shoulder. Over the frock fell a long, billowy train of tulle, daintily trimmed with orange blossom sprays and a large true lover’s knot of silver ribbon. The veil was caught with a chaplet of orange blossom. The bride carried a pretty shower bouquet of lilies of the valley.

Miss Phyllis Jackson was chief bridesmaid and wore a frock of forget-me-not blue georgette embroidered in crystal and silver beads. Her bandeau was of silver tissue and handmade flowerp and she carried a shower bouquet to tone. Miss Hilda Jackson, sister of the bride, also attended, wearing a. frock of rose pink georgette beaded effectively in gold with a headdress and bouquet to match. The little Misses Patricia Neville and Kathleen Morton, nieces of the bride, were flower girls, wearing frocks of hyacinth blue and rose pink crepe de chine, prettily pleated and smocked. They each carried a dainty posy to tone and wore a quaint little wreath of flowers. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. E. Morton, while the bridegroom was attended by Mr. F. Thomas as best man. The organist was Mr. Edgar Randal. The ceremony was performed by Canon Percival James. The church had been beautifully decorated with a wealth of pink roses and arum lilies. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Domain Kiosk, where a large number of guests were received by the mother of the bride, who wore a frock of black figured georgette with rose and crystal trimmings and a black hat to match. She carried 9 bouquet of roses and pansies, Mrs. Johnson, the mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart frock of mauve and silver embroidered georgette, with a hat to tone. She carried a charming bouquet in harmonising tints.
