POPULAR SCHOOL TEACHER

On Wednesday a well attended farewell evening was given by the members of the Waiuku Presbyterian Church in the Parish Hall, in honour of Miss D. Knight, who is shortly leaving Waiuku for Feilding. A variety of musical items and competitions helped to make the function a great success. The Rev. T. A. Speer, on behalf of the church members, in making a presentation to Miss Knight, spoke of the sterling qualities of the guest, who had endeared herself to all with whom she had come in contact, especially to the school children who were under her control. He felt sure that she would carry with her the best wishes of all at Waiuku. Miss Knight suitably replied and all joined in singing “For She's a Jolly Good Fellow.” After a dainty supper had been served a very enjoyable function terminated with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
