“RUBBER HEELS”
AN ALL-STAR TRIUMPH
Although it is not generally known, Ed Wynn, to be seen in his first Paramount picture, “Rubber Heels,” directed one of the greatest all-star pictures ever produced. He directed it, moreover, lying on his stomach, which put him far in advance of his time, for the film was made in 1915 at "Willat’s studio in Fort Lee, long before “camera angles” had been invented. In the cast were: W. C. Fields, Ina Clare, Leon Errol, Bert Williams, Annette Kellerman, Ann Pennington, Olive Thomas, Bernard Granville, Florenz Ziegfeld, Julian Mitchell and Mae Murray, all making their first appearance before the camera. “Rubber Heels” was directed by Victor Heerman. Chester Conklin is featured in Wynn’s initial starring picture. Thelma Todd heads the supporting company.
