LAWYER TURNS ACTOR

CLIVE BROOK AS STAR Clive Brook, English actor, who has prominent roles in the forthcoming Paramount productions “Under World,” “Barbed Wire” and “Hula,” a Clara Bow starring vehicle now in work, has signed a new contract with the company which will keep him at the Paramount studios for some considerable time yet. Brook has been in America since 1924, having been brought to Hollywood in that year by Thomas H. Ince following four years of success on the English stage and screen. It was not until after the war, in which he rose from private to major, that Brook chose a theatrical career, his early training having been in the law.
