Auckland Wool Sales.—The first Auckland wool sale for the 1927-28 season opens in the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, on Thursday, November 24, at 7.30 p.m. Catalogues close on November 19. London Tallow Values. —Under date October 19 the London office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co. cabled as follows:—“We quote, c.i.f., 0.e., values for the following descriptions of tallow:— Prime mutton, 38s a cwt; good beef, 40s a cwt; mixed, 37s 6d a cwt; market inactive.’’ Kauri Gum Prices.—The Kauri Gum Control Board reports obtaining the following prices for kauri gum-during the past week:—White gum, seven-eighths, scraped, 150 sto 1555; three-quarter, scraped, 120 s to 130 s; ordinary, 70s to 80s; good ordinary, 90s; washed nuts, 70s to 755; chips and dust, 25s to 40s. Black gum: Three-quarter, scraped, 120 sto 130 s; washed steel, 75s to 85s; light brown, 50s to 565; ordinary, 32s to 40s; good mixed, 56s to 60s; good sifted chips, 22s to 255; chips and dust, 12s to 17s. Chalk: Good, 30s to 335; poor, 26s to 28s. Dominion Pictures, Ltd. —A profit of £3,052 2s 6d for the year ended September 30, 1927, is ecorded by the 14th annual report of directors of the Dominion Picture Theatres Company, Ltd. An interim dividend at the rate of 7£ per cent, was paid on the preference on March 31, 1927, and 6d per share on the ordinary shares in April 29 of this year. This, with £466 14s 8d brought forward from last year, leaves £2,492 0s lid available for distribution. From this the directors recommend a further dividend of Is per share on the ordinary shares, and 9d per share on the preference shares. The balance sheet shows freehold land and buildings assessed at £77,500; plant and fixtures, less £55 depreciation, £800; sundry debtors, £l3O 11s 6d; cash in hand *and bank, £5 7s sd. Principal liabilities apart from share capital at £39,230 are mortgage on freehold property £32,000, and reserves, £3,000.
