YOUTHFUL ATHLETES IN ACTION ON DOMAIN CRICKET GROUND THE annual athletic sports of the Auckland Grammar School opened under splendid conditions on the Domain Cricket Ground this morning. A large assembly of scholars, parents and friends witnessed the closely-contested events. In the Maiden 100 Yards Race Munro won in the splendid time of 10 3-ssec, breaking -the record by l-ssec, and in the small boys’ race Dick broke the record of 12 2-ssec by 2-ssec. Results are as follows: Maiden Race, 100 Yards. —Munro 1, Gladding 2, Hamilton 3. Time: 10 3-5. 880 Yards Handicap. —Under 15: Dowling 1, Cameron 2, Francis 3. Time: 2.20 4-5. Open Handicap, 440 Yards. —Brooking 1, Ramsay 2, Kenny 3. Time: 54 1-5. Open Championship, 880 Yards.—Garlick and lnnes dead heat 1, Chappell 3. Time, 2.9 2-5. Small Boys’ Race, 100 Yards. —Dick 1, Constance 2, Bennett 3. Time: 12sec. 440 Yards Handicap. —Under 17: Kimberley 1, Durham 2, Pearce 3. Time: 55 2-5.
