“ADVENTURES OF MAYA”
COMING TO AUCKLAND ‘ The most amazing kinematograph picture ever produced,’* is the summing up of “The Adventures of Maya,” by H. G. Wells, the famous novelist. The film created such interest in London recently that it was shown in 20 theatres simultaneously. “All London is making a bee-line for the theatres were ‘Maya’ the bee, and her wonderful adventures ;.n the realms of natural history, is shown to astonished audiences daily,” said the “Daily Express.” “It is an achievement in scientific kincmatogrepby which leaves one amazed. The characters in this dramatic scientific film are all taken by insects, reptiles and animals, and ‘Maya’ the bee tells the story of her adventures in delightful fashion. Two episodes stand out vividly—firstly, an occasion when the bee is rescued from a spider’s web by a black beetle, and secondly, when a host of hornets invade the beehive and are ousted by the bees after a great fight. The film, which took s:x camera men four years to take, will be released in Auckland by Famous Amusements.
