Assault in park.—John McKenzie a voung man, who while under the influer.ee of drink in Myers Park yesterday assaulted a woman, was fined ii at the Police Court to-day.
Railway Transfer. —Mr. Fred Gavin, for seven years in charge of the trainexamining branch of the Railway Department at Huntly, has received notice of his transfer to Auckland next month. He will be succeeded by Mr. G. Haggerty, from Wellington.
Takapuna Traffic.— The Takapuna Borough Council decided last night that assistance be given the traffic inspector, Ml-. C. Wheeler, over the week-end to secure convictions against speeding motorists. Several councillors emphasised the necessity for controlling fast traffic.
Theft From Motor-car.— ln the V. ellington court to-day a fireman named William O’Keefe, with a criminal record, was Riven three months’ imprisonment for theft of a from a motor-car, valued at £4B, the property of Dr. K. C. Begg.
