ANGLICAN SYNOD

OPENING TO-DAY

The second session of the 25th Synod of the Auckland Diocese opened today.

Holy Communion was celebrated at 8 a.m. and the Synod was constituted and addressed by the Archbishop at 10.30 a.m. The business sessions today are from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., and from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. The conference of the lay members will be held to-morrow morning at 10 a.m., and afterwards they will be entertained by the Archbishop and Mrs. Averill at luncheon. Synod will sit in the afternoon and evening. There will be an “at home" nt Bishopscourt to members of the Synod and families on Saturday afternoon. “Synod Sunday - ’ will be celebrated at the cathedral. On Tuesday the clergy will confer and will be entertained at luncheon at BishopacourU
