FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
FINE FIRST DAY’S BILL
The Waikaio Racing Club, it is pleasing to find, is favourably positioned to bring oft a record gathering at Te Rapa i.ext Friday and Saturday, and, with special train arrangements announced from* various quarters on both days, record attendances may be safely anticipated. The programme will be brought off in the following order: Waimai Handicap Hurdle Race, one mile and ahalf; Trial Handicap, two divisions, six furlongs; Tamahe.re Stakes Handicap, five furlongs; Waikato Cup Handicap, one mile and a-half; Claudelands High-weight Handicap, one mile; Clarkin Handicap Steeplechase, about three miles; Cambridge Handicap, six furlongs; Hautapu Hack Handicap, seven furlongs. The first race is timed to start at mid-day. Special trains leave as follows: From Newmarket, 7.31 a.m., and stops at various stations to pick up passengers, arriving at Te Rapa 11.10 a.m.; from Auckland, 8.15 a.m., stopping at Newmarket only, and arriving at Te Rapa 11.24 a.m.
