TE AWAMUTU ATHLETIC CLUB
THIS YEAR’S MEETING
A £SO CHOL' (I'rom Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, To-day. Tin- executive of the Te Awamutu Athletic Club met on Monday evening. Mr. A. A. Chittenden presided over a full attendance of members. According to the many applications for progr mmes for the forthcoming meeting from well-known axemen, it appears that the success of the chopping events at least are assured. Mr. A. R. Elliott was appointed delegate to the Auckland Athletic and cycling Union. The following chopping events have been included in the programme: Te Awamutu Open Handicap, £SO, 15 in standing block, entrance fee. £2. Local handicap chop of £4: 12in block; competitors to reside within a radius of 20 miles of Te Awamutu Post Office. Open chop, of £ls, 14in standing block. It was decided to allocate more money toward the 100yds race (open). This event is now worth £8 in trophies.
