A useful shoe-cupboard which presents an attractive appearance is illustrated here. It is a serviceable
acquisition to any home, and is easily constructed. To remove any desired shoe the rack above is raised and is held automatically in position.
In the purchase of a house it is well to find out the tax rate and the assessed valuation, so that the amount of taxes ; to be paid each year may be estii mated. If the street is to be paved, or new water, sewer or gas mains, or i electric light lines are to be put in, there may be special assessments I charged against the property. It is [well to find out which one of these 1 must be allowed for.
