Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson will open the Auckland Sketch Club's exhibition at a private view on October 29. Miss M. iKng, of Takapuna, returned on Monday from a motor trip to Rotorua. * * * Mrs. J. B. Henry is leaving - at the end of the week on a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. Standish, of Hew Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Ivan Standish, Epsom. Mrs. W. Bayly, of New Plymouth, is staying with Mrs. Owen Bayly, Epsom. * * # Miss Constance Russell, of St. Stephen’s Avenue, is a guest of Mrs. J. Wells, of Wanganui. Mrs. Chisholm and Miss Chisholm, of Victoria Avenue, have returned from a visit to Invercargill. Miss F. Wood, of New Plymouth, is spending a short holiday in Auckland, where she is the guest of Mrs. E. R. A. I-laworth. Miss I-ladfield, who has been attending the Victoria League Conference in New Plymouth, has returned to Auckland. * * * Mrs. Buckleton, of 'Wellington, motored through to Te Kuiti and then to Te Awamutu, after the Victoria League Conference in New Plymouth, and expects later to come to Auckland. Among the Auckland golfers playing at Heretaunga in the Wellington ladies’ provincial championship, which opened yesterday, are Mrs. J. Wilson Mrs. Rainger, Mrs. Cox, Miss J.
