KING COUNTRY FIXTURS
Headmasters and teachers of district high schools mat in Otorohanga. on Saturday to arrange the programme for this year’s King Country District High Schools’ sports. Mr. P. F. skinner presided. The following officials were elected: President, Mr. Lynskt) (Taumarunui).; judges, Messrs- Prit- » chard (Cambridge), Roberts (Te Awamutu), Skinner (Otorohanga), Smith (Te Kuiti), Webster (Pio Pio), and Lynskey (Taumarunui): committee. Messrs. Brewer, Cox. Bathgate. Whyte. Hemplemann, Thomas, Merrick, and a Cambridge representative: hon physician. Dr. Forsyth; hon. secretary. Mr. H. Cox (Otorohanga). It was decided to hold the sports on the Otorohanga District High School’s grounds on Friday, November 11, and to apply to the Auckland Education Board for a holiday for th schools competing on that date. Th schools competing will be Cambridgt Te Awamutu, Otorohanga, Te KuitiPio Pio, and Taumarunui. The events will be run as follow--100 yards; 220 yards: 440 yaras; ; yards; one mile; 120 yards hurdles, 880 yards walk; high jump; long J urr jh hop. step, and jump: relay **- • throwing the cricket, ball: otfffta - race: and tug-of-war. The P*" events include 75 yards and 100 ya - races, and a number of novelty even. ' Two pupdls from each school are lowed to compete in each event, the boys* section there is a champ*; ship challenge cup for the most P° gained in events, and a challenge for the school winning the relay Last year, when the inaugural ® ‘ Ing was held at Te Kuiti, th€ j, v pionship challenge cup was wo h j.
